"Very simple and quick dinner when dressed up with a tossed salad. This recipe was modified from one out of a Weight Watcher's cookbook. Feel free to vary what you add to the pizza."

  1. A great recipe! I was a bit nervous that this would have a really soggy crust from all that sauce but even the middle baked up nice! I put a layer of pepperoni slices under the ground beef mixture and I also used fresh mushrooms instead of canned. Be sure to let it rest for the full 5 minutes or even 10. I was in too much of a hurry when I served the first piece and it didn't come out in a good slice like the second helpings did. A great recipe, thanks for sharing it!

  2. This is so simple to make and very tasty. My family does not like mushrooms, so I omitted. I too added pepperoni, but on top of the cheese so my fussy grandson could pick them off. This is a sure winner!

  3. Delicious and easy. I too added pepperoni, but I did it on top of the cheese. I think next time I'm going to put the pepperoni under the ground beef mixture like Pamela in Winnipeg. I'll definitely be making this again.

  5. Good easy to make recipe. I added some sauteed onions and green pepper. Will make this again

Tweaks

  1. Added mushrooms and hot peppers, substituted BBQ sauce for tomato sauce and used pepper jack cheese.

  2. My husband loves sausage pizza, so I used ground sweet Italian sausage instead of ground beef. This was a huge hit with everyone! I used Pillsbury refrigerated pizza dough (13.8 oz tube). We'll be enjoying this often. Thanx!

  3. Easy and very good. The kids loved it and DH did too. I left off the mushrooms since the kids like just cheese. Next time DH wants me to make half with peperoni for him. You really can top it with whatever you like on a pizza which makes this really fun 'cause you c an change it around as much as you like. Would also be good to use half beef and half sausage meat instead of a full pound of ground beef. All it needs is a salad or lots of veggie toppings to make this a complete meal. Thanks so much for posting.

  4. "Feel free to vary what you add"... well, I did just that! I used the directions as written but substituted the following: ground sausage instead of ground beef; fresh mushrooms instead of canned; and pizza sauce instead of Italian-style tomato sauce. I also added a layer of pepperoni before the meat sauce, and a little Pizza Seasoning to the top with the cheese. So, with all those changes I guess it's almost a different recipe, but I'm still giving this 5 stars for the basic recipe & directions. My family loved it and I'll definitely make it again. Thanks!
