ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups butter
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 teaspoons vanilla
- 6 eggs
- 1 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon (optional)
- 1 cup nuts (optional)
directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and also line 13 x 9 baking dish with parchment paper or grease with Crisco.
- cream room temperature butter and sugar together until well blended.
- Add Vanilla and eggs two at a time and mix until well blended.
- Sift together all dry ingredients (except chocolate chips) and add to wet mixture about 3/4 cup at a time.
- Hand mix chocolate chips and pour into prepared baking dish.
- If you are using a glass or light colored baking dish bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes. If you are using a darker colored dish drop the temperature down to 325 and bake for 50-55 minutes. Test the middle with a tooth pick. Brownies are done when the batter pulls away from the sides and toothpick comes out clean.
