    Directions:

      Place quick oats in a bowl and pour boiling water over the top. Stir and set aside.

      Cream butter with sugar and brown sugar.

      Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

      Add vanilla extract.

      In a separate bowl combine flour and spices.

      Add cooked oatmeal and the flour mixture to the butter mixture.

      Stir until just combined.

      Pour cake batter into a greased 9x13 cake pan.

      Bake at 350 for 25 - 35 minutes.

      Combine all frosting ingredients in a sauce pan.
