Made these for dinner the other night. Hubby wanted more (just the two of us finished this off). I did use frozen peas and frozen (but thawed) pearl onions. I wasn't sure if that was the same as baby onions. I did not have to peel or cut them (they are tiny). This was really good. Hubby suggested that maybe next time I could put some diced, precooked ham into it to make it a meal in itself. Hmmmm? Thanks for a keeper. Made for CQ 2015 for LBOB
What a great recipe, it was so quick and easy to produce the perfect peas and cream. The flavor and textures were outstanding. Not a single pea was left after dinner. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely recipe Karen Elizabeth. Made for Culinary Quest 2014 - Suitcase Gourmets.
Nice side dish. Easy and tasty. Thanks for sharing. Made for Culinary Quest 2014.
Yumm, this went perfectly with with tonight's salmon. Loved the lemon addition. It was fresh and creamy and delicious. I used pearl onions in half the amount ask for. Made for Culinary Quest, 2014 but I'll surely be making these again.
This was a delcious recipe that was super easy to make! I had frozen pearl onions and peas, which I thawed, then prepared the recipe as posted. I was a little confused by the measurements, and used 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of flour. I did add the lemon juice, which provided an unexpected but pleasant tang. I will definitely make this again! Made for ZWT 8.
i made this for mr picky because i was having bks tarragon cream peas and he doesnt like tarragon . he loved these i just used onion chunks great recipe made for one it worked fine zaar tour 8
I liked the recipe a lot, but my family commented on the unexpected tang of the lemon. We both enjoyed the amount of onions. (I used pearl and a 16oz bag of frozen peas). Thank t=you for sharing your recipe! Made for Fall '09 Pick A Chef.
We loved these. I used the Pearl Red Onions which really worked well for me. They did fall apart but really added a nice flavor. Loved the addition of the lemon juice. I'll admit though I used 2% milk instead of the cream, but I don't think it made one bit of difference to us. Thanks for sharing. Made for Pot Luck
When I read "baby onions", I thought pearl onions. But the amount of onions to peas was really over the top. So maybe my idea of a "baby onion" should have been the end part of a green onion? I did love the cream added to the peas, although it isn't something I will do often because of calorie content. Thanks for an interesting take on peas. Made for Potluck Tag game.
I really like this recipe, and it tasted really great! The family loved it. Because I was not sure what type of onions to use (baby) I used shallots and cut them in halves and they worked so very well in this recipe. I didnt use the lemon juice, but will try it next time. A recipe I will be making again. Thanks Karen Elizabeth.
