If you like eating an oatmeal brick, this recipe is for you. The ratio of dry to liquid should be 2 cups oatmeal to at least 4 cups liquid. I will be spending the next hour trying to get the oatmeal off my lidded baking pan. I will never make this again.
It's a good thing my nephew likes oatmeal, otherwise, I wouldn't have tasted this myself and found it delicious. Instead of grating the apple, I chopped it. I like having a little bit of â€œtoothâ€� in it. Freezes well, and just needs a little liquid to bring it back to it's original goodness. Thnx for sharing your recipe, Protege.
I tried this and I liked it! It was easy to throw together and very yummy! I left out the almonds and added some Red River to add extra fibre. I should have added a bit extra milk because that made it a bit dry. I will definitely keept his recipe on hand, because I like to have a healthy snack like this in the fridge for those hungry moments.
