My coworker made chocolate cake with homemade chocolate frosting for my birthday. It was so good I thought I'd share it with you. Cooking time is approximate.
- 1⁄4 cup baking cocoa
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 1⁄4 cup milk
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 1 -1 1⁄2 cup powdered sugar, to thicken
- Stir together the cocoa, butter, milk, and sugar in a pot on the stove till smooth.
- Remove from the heat.
- Add powdered sugar a little at a time until the frosting is at the consistency you'd like.
This is the only Chocolate Frosting Recipe i use!! It's quick and easy. I find that i use approx. 2- 2 1/2 cups of powdered sugar. I like my frosting a little thicker. Thanks for posting!!!!
Hard a rough time with getting this to a 'creamy' stage. It is still gritty, but tastes good. Nice dark color too. I wouldn't make it again because of the grittiness, but it isn't a loss, as it really does taste good.
