After I had surgery while stationed with my husband far from home, a neighbor brought this casserole by for us. Something that could be popped into the oven for dinner. It was a hit and I have been making it ever since. It always makes me feel comforted.

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Brown green bell pepper and onions in skillet that has been sprayed with butter spray until tender.
  2. Add remaining ingredients, reserving 2 ounces of cheese,
  3. place mixture in a baking dish and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees until cheese is melted and lightly browned to your desire.
  5. NOTE: This recipe is best when made ahead and then heated to serve.
