  • Remove seeds from jalapeños and red pepper.
  • Dice all vegetables and add to large pot (at medium low heat) along with all liquids, spices, and legumes (rinse legumes before adding).
  • Cook bacon in separate pan until semi-cooked, then add Italian sausage and beef--cook until browned, and mash into small pieces, discarding liquid as it accumulates.
  • Add meat to pot with sauce and vegetables, cover and simmer for at least 45 minutes.
  • After cooking, add another shot or two of bourbon.
