I love dates. This is dead sweet. When I make it again I thing I will cut the sugar in half and increase the number of dates.
I made this for a date-loving friend and he loved it. It is very rich, but delicous, especailly with freshly whipped cream.
The people who tried this when I made it yesterday said that it was actually cake-like in consistency, but gave it four stars just the same.
This is just wonderful! Very simple to make and very, very tasty! You have to watch as this pie nears the end of the cooking cycle because it may spill over the top. I used a cookie pan covered with aluminum foil to catch the over flow. The recipe didn't call for chopping up the dates, but next time I prepare this I will probably chop them up somewhat. I served this pie with a dollop of whipped cream for a great ending to our meal! Thanks, Chia!
