Found this recipe today and worked with what I had. No nuts of any kind and a deep dish pie plate. So, 2 c chopped dates, a bit less than a Tbsp of Walnut liquor and ddoubled dry ingred, and 6 eggs. Halved sugar as another reviewer suggested. Found way directions were written a bit confusing, so not sure if pie plate was to be buttered or buttered and floured. Did both. 350 in center rack, 30 mins. Cooled a bit and dug in. Stuck a bit, so maybe more butter and NO flour? Delicious!! Will definitely make again!

  1. preheat oven to 350 grease and flour a 9" pie dish with the butter and 1 tsp flour combine sugar, 3 tbsp flour and baking powder in a small dish, set aside put dates and remaining flour in a small bowl, stirring to coat.
  2. add walnuts, set aside in a medium bowl add eggs and beat well stir in date mixture, stir in flour/sugar mixture until well combined pour into prepared pie dish and bake 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean serve warm or at room temperature.
