I added nuts into the date mix and we really loved the addition. I have made them several times both ways and we love them both!
These were a big hit in our house. And I didn't feel bad watching my husband and daughter gobble them up since all in all, this is way better for them than any of the other cookies we make around here. So good- we're making more!
These turned out excellent! I had a date bar recipe I used to use but this is much better. Everyone in my family loved them. This is one I know I will make over and over. Thanks for posting it!
These were fairly easy to prepare with ingredients in my kitchen. I hate to be the party pooper but these bars were very fatty tasting and too sweet for my taste buds. I also found that they were dry. I love date bars, just this one isn't going to make it to my collection. Sorry.
These are delicious!! I have this recipe and make them once in a blue moon because I literally eat them until I feel sick! I ALWAYS have a hard time making the "top crust" fit ... but other than that , easy to do and MmMmm GOOD!
My mom used to make date bars when I was a kid, so I decided to try some during the holidays. These were yummy -- buttery, full of flavor, home-y. It took my date mixture about 15-20 min of low stovetop time to cook, so I'd recommend starting this step before combining the flour-oats, etc. I didn't use all of the flour-oatmeal-butter mixture (had probably 1/4 cup left, but it was mostly flour it seemed). I'll definitely make these again.
