Oh, these are soooo good! I've made date balls other years and apparently cooked the mixture too long, because the cooled treats were almost rock-hard! This recipe is great; makes a crunchy, chewy, sweet ball. I like to double the recipe, mix in about 1/2 cup coconut, pecans instead of walnuts, and don't roll them in anything. Yum, yum! (On med-low burner, the date mixture was on the heat for a total of 13 minutes.)

  1. Mix first 4 ingredients and boil in pan until it leave the sides, stirring continuoulsy.
  2. Then add the remaining ingredients and shape into walnut size balls.
  3. Roll in coconut and enjoy!
