Oh, these are soooo good! I've made date balls other years and apparently cooked the mixture too long, because the cooled treats were almost rock-hard! This recipe is great; makes a crunchy, chewy, sweet ball. I like to double the recipe, mix in about 1/2 cup coconut, pecans instead of walnuts, and don't roll them in anything. Yum, yum! (On med-low burner, the date mixture was on the heat for a total of 13 minutes.)

Delicious little morsels. I rolled half in the coconut and left the others plain. Made for PROP IT UP! event in the Photo Forum. :)
