This spread is nice and chunky with great nut and date flavours. The spices complemented each other and the remaining ingredients nicely, but were a bit strong for our taste. A tad less ginger would have been perfect for us. Since there are so many dates in here, we skipped the sugar. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this lovely recipe with us, Paula!

This is a lot like a stuffed date recipe that I make, so of course I love it! HA HA HA! But seriously, this is very good.I cut back on the sugar because dates can be overwhelmingly and I don't have much of a sweet tooth. The crunch of the walnuts is great! I liked this on crackers myself. Thanks! :D

Quick, easy, & delicious! I used it to spread on bagels, but it would be good on other types of breads or even crackers. Thanks for your entry & good luck in the contest. =)

I was lured to this recipe by how quick & easy it sounded, and I have to say it lived up to that completely. Loved the fact that the description embraced the whole gift idea. I often make quick breads to give to family and friends, and this is the perfect compliment. Thanks for sharing such a tasty recipe!

I doubled this recipe. I had some frozen date squares and I cut them in small pieces and I also cut the walnut in small pieces. I spread this on small cut squares of bread. I used the other half of this recipe and folded it into a from scratch white cake batter. I sprayed small foil loaf pans and poured the batter into four of them. When cool, slice and serve whipped cream on top or serve plain. This recipe is great! I hope you don't mind if I made 5 gifts from one recipe. Good Job!

Excuse me while I type with my mouth full. :) What an amazing combination, and so very easy to put together. Took no time at all. This is just the most perfect spread for me personally. I love everything about it. I did leave out the ginger, as I'm not a fan, and did cut back on the amount of dates and nuts simply because I didn't have enough, however I do think I will stick with that amount as it just worked so well for our tastes. I can see me taking this to a get-together, as well as serving it in my own home. It's perfect to have in the fridge just for our own use. Easily my favourite of the contest recipes I tried. Made for the 2010 Craze-E Category Contest. Good luck and thanks for participating.
