Darned good marinade... for chicken! Marinated 7 thighs for 2 hours then grilled over indirect heat. Boiled leftover marinade until thickened with an additional 2T honey. This was delicious! Will be keeping this one handy for summer entertaining! Thank you friedym... for a great versatile recipe!
DH said was "very close" to what he had in korea but needs MORE GARLIC...i made it gogi bokum (stir-fry)...so next time i'll add alot of garlic...served with Hot Kimchi Pickle - Quick ....and rice EDIT: i didn't have sake...used rice vinegar instead
Ive been msking this for 3 years (my fiance is korean) he tought me this one. Love It and you will too.
Very good stuff! I used a bit of sriracha sauce instead of the red pepper and let it marinate for 2-3 hours. I have never eaten bulgogi, so I wasn't sure what it should be like. I think this would be fantastic grilled, but since that wasn't an option for me this time, I threw it all (marinade and everything) in a stir-fry pan and cooked it on the stove. It was very good this way. Would be fantastic with rice, but I ended up having it alongside some leftover cilantro cole slaw from Fish Tacos and Cilantro Coleslaw, 20 Minutes Max, which actually complemented the bulgogi quite well!
Super Easy and quick! Very tasty. I didn't have sake so I didn't use it nor did I try to replace it with something else - still yummy. I didn't realize it needed 30 min marinading time so mine only marinaded for 10 minutes while waiting for rice to cook. It still had tons of flavor. Grill on my indoor grill pan. Thanks - I'll be making this again. Both my kids ate it!
This is the best bulgogi I have had in years!! I cannot wait to make it for my friends and family. It was very YUMMY!!!
Wow!!!!! Great Bulgogi!!!!! I don't eat much beef, and I kept going back for "one more small piece"! hehe!!! I doubled the recipe for my family and left out the sake.
