    Bev's Note:

This is a very old recipe given to me by my mother-in-law. My husband loves these beans and requests them often. If you have an occasion coming up, give them a try! You won't be disappointed!

Well, I can see why they're Dan's favorite! I love baked beans, and this is the easiest recipe I've ever seen for them. And they are definitly the best! They have a wonderful flavor, a mix of sweet and spicy. Bev, this will be the only way I make my baked beans from now on!! Thanks!! :-)

Made this for Zaar Cookathon week and our early July 4th celebration. For me, making baked beans usually involves just opening a can of pork and beans and heating them up. No more. These were so delicious. The perfect sweet/tangy sauce with the flavor of bacon putting it over the top. A lovely addition to our BBQ and it got raves from all my guests. Thanks bunches.

Anyone that doesn't like these beans doesn't know beans. Warning, they are sweet but the flavors blend smoothly. Packed with flavor they are juicy so you may need to drain dome juice off before you serve (BUT NOT ALL!). I can see why they are "Dan's Favorite Baked Beans"....this Dan sounds like he really knows beans. He must be smart, witty and good-looking too!
