Directions

  1. Stir ingredients together in bowl.
  2. Let rise at least one hour.
  3. Let raise a second time.
  4. Shape into 2 loaves and let rise in pan.
  5. Bake at 400 degrees F until tops start to brown.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F to finish.

I was torn in my rating. The bread has a good flavor, but it's quite heavy. The directions were rushed and vague and I had to question the amount of yeast. 3 oz is an awful lot for a 2 loaf recipe. One packet is only .25 oz, so 12 packets of yeast? The recipe seemed to do just fine with two packets. This recipe has potential, but I think perhaps it should be tweaked some. I don't recommend this recipe for beginners.
