Danish Chocolate Bars

"This is another one of my husbands family recipes. The index card (now yellow with age) says it is Auntie Vivian Cornwall's recipe. It is really good, but you need to take care not to over-bake the bottom layer."

  1. These are incredibly good! I was looking for something to throw together quickly and still enjoy warm, as my sweet tooth needed to be satisfied! I sure picked a winner with this recipe. If I were to take these to a gathering, I'd dress up the top with some chopped nuts or a light frosting, as they have a "plain jane" appearance. We will enjoy these again, for sure. Thanks for sharing one of your hubby's favorites!

I'm a born and raised city girl who moved to a small town, and love it! I now live in Lexington KY, and I am trying to adjust back to the larger town feel. One good thing...more restaurants! I love to cook, and learned from my father, who passed away 4 years ago. He cooked by throwing things together, and it always tasted great. I love to experiment in the kitchen, and am thrilled when my husband calls me a good cook. Really, I just love to do it!
