If bread pudding is a favorite at your house, this one is quick and easy to put together. Serve it warm.
- 4 cups milk
- 2 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 3 cups dry bread, cubes
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 slightly beaten eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄2 cup raisins

- Put milk and chocolate in saucepan over medium heat; stir until chocolate is melted and milk is scalded.
- Pour milk into large bowl with bread, butter, salt and sugar; temper eggs and gradually add them to pudding mixture; stir in vanilla and raisins; pour into greased baking dish.
- Bake in a water bath at 350° until firm, about 50 minutes.
