  • Mix the ingredients for the bottom layer together and press into 9x13 pan.
  • Bake at 325 for 15-20 minutes.
  • Mix custard in a little cold water before adding to boiling water.
  • Boil til thickens.
  • Spread over the base.
  • Top with whipping cream.
  • Sprinkle coconut over top.

  1. Bert I have to confess that I am not a dessert person but I am partial to custard sooooo as luck would have it I spotted your recipe. Excellent, easy and very tasty. Everyone enjoyed it. Just as you said in your instructions I think it is important to use boiled custard not instant. I had everything ready in the morning and put it together just before serving. I'll make this again and again Thanks bert
     
  2. I too adore custard so I had to try this. I used good quality boiled custard (Birds) and it just didn't have any staying power, it turned watery after a few hours. I think I will make this again and try more custard powder. Because otherwise the flavor was good.

I love to cook and so I am thrilled that I found recipezaar. I work as an educational assistant in a food school so I am around food all day long. I have four children, three of which have already flown the coop so to speak but I still have my 'baby' at home. (He's 21).
