I have been looking for a soup similar to one I had at a cafe recently, it was a curried carrot soup - and it looked like a bisque almost. This recipes ingredients are great but put together I really didn't like the taste or the texture, however the yogurt did make it taste a little better. It just didn't do it for me.
Mmmm... gorgeous soup! Perfectly spiced and delicious - will become a lunch staple with me. I do agree with Sackville though, this made more like 2-3 servings for me, but I'll happily make double batches of this! I used a whole tablespoon of mild curry powder, and along with the chicken broth and cream cheese the overall taste actually seriously reminded me of a particular rich, curried chicken dish I make - a funny feeling when you're eating a good for you and healthy carrot soup!! :-D Thanks for a lovely recipe Mary!
Amazing soup! The carrots and curry accent each other very well. I made a quadruple batch and froze the rest in individual containers.
Very 5 Stars !!...just finished this for lunch and what a cozy feeling, almost purring. The balance is perfect in your recipe, I used newly purchased jar of Garam Masala, 3 teaspons. It was not overpowering and prob handle more, but I like to build spices llike this slowly, can add, can't take out. LOL Thank you for posting.
I liked this really well. It has an unusual flavor and really fills you up. Perfect for cold weather.
Very nice indeed. I used a hot curry powder plus some cayenne pepper for a spicier soup. It was quick and easy to make and very colourful in the bowl. I'm not sure about the servings though. For a main course, it really only gives two large bowls. If you were serving with a salad and bread or as a starter, it might serve four.
Very tasty! I added more water than called for because I like a "brothy" soup rather than a really thick one and I didn't have cream cheese so I used Laughing Cow cheese wedges.
