  • In a 12-inch skillet melt butter over medium-high heat until butter sizzles.
  • Add steaks; reduce heat to medium and cook for 5 to 8 minutes or until done, turning once.
  • Remove meat, reserving drippings in skillet.
  • For sauce, cook mushrooms, onion, garlic, paprika, and pepper in reserved drippings in skillet until mushrooms are tender.
  • Stir in broth.
  • Stir together sour cream and flour, stir into skillet.
  • Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 1 minute more.
  • Return steaks to skillet with sauce; heat through.

  1. This was very tasty! The only thing I would change next time...allow the meat to simmer longer so the cubed steak tenders up more.
     
  2. Used cubed pork - very good sauce. I let the steaks simmer in sauce for at least a half hour or so for the tenderness. Served with roasted vegetables. Easy go to recipe.
     
  3. This was delicious! at step 4, I cooked the onions, garlic and spices first, in order to soften the onions, then added the mushrooms. I had to add butter several times during the cooking - I guess the butcher cubed a very lean cut, and the spices absorbed the juices. It came out great! you can really taste the paprika!
