Good basic french bread recipe. I was a little nervous about not doing an initial rise for the dough, but found that it worked very well. I made four small loaves, we ate one fresh and the other three were placed in the freezer for later use. The only complaint I had was my bread didn't get crusty, but stayed soft. My husband prefers it that way, but I like crispy bread.
