  1. Mix all ingredients except bread and toss well.
  2. Chill for at least 45 minutes.
  3. Cut thick slices of bread.
  4. Broil bread until light brown.
  5. Place bread on plate and top with salad.

This salad was a winner! I used fresh lemon basil from my garden. The only thing I did differently was that after toasting the french bread, I cut it into large "croutons" and served the salad over the croutons instead of whole pieces of bread. This is so delicious and I will definitely be making it again.
