Crockpot Split Pea and Smoked Turkey Soup

"Everyone is familiar with split pea soup, but this one is a little different; it derives it's flavor from smoked turkey. Actually you can use smoked turkey or smoked turkey sausage. Either lends its flavor to this scrumptuous soup. Even the smoked turkey from the deli will work. This is a substansial soup to warm you up on a cold night. Recipe is from BH&G."
