Cook 8 hrs
Adapted from a recipe in _Make it Fast, Cook it Slow_ by Stephanie O'Dea.
- Place an oven safe dish into a four quart slow cooker. Pour the condensed milk into the dish. Pour hot water around the outside of the dish until it comes 3/4 of the way up the sides. Cover and cook on low 8 hours.
Another method I found on a blog yesterday, don't remember which one. I haven't tried it yet. Place can in crockpot, fill with water until the can is covered. Turn on low for 8 hours. Allow water and can to cool. I suppose one could use a couple of cans at the same time. I wonder if it works. It does eleiminate the scary factor in the regular stove-top method. Janet
