Crock Pot (Slow Cooker) Baked Beans

I received this recipe from one of my great friends. I love to take these beans to a potluck. You can also use Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce instead of ketchup for a different taste.

Ingredients:

Servings: 10

• ½ lb ground pork sausage
• ½ lb bacon , chopped into bit sized pieces
• 1 onion , chopped
• 2 (15 ounce) cans pork & beans
• 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans , drained
• 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans , drained
• 1 (15 ounce) can great northern beans , drained
• 1 (15 ounce) can butter beans , drained
• 1 (15 ounce) can red beans , drained
• 1 cup brown sugar
• ¼ cup ketchup
• 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 2 garlic cloves , crushed and finely chopped
• ½ teaspoon chili powder
• salt
• pepper

Directions:

1. Cook ground pork sausage on medium heat until done in a deep sauce pan.
2. Once fully cooked add raw bacon pieces and onion into pork.
3. Saute together over medium heat until bacon is cooked and onion is soft (about 15-20 minutes).
4. Add to crock pot.
5. Add the rest of the ingredients to the crock pot and mix well.
6. Simmer on high for 2 hours and then low for 2 hours or you can cook on low 6 hours.
7. Corn starch may need to be added for thickening. Just take a few tablespoons of corn starch and mix with a little cold water (1/4 cup or so) until smooth. Gradually stir into bean mixture until blended.
