The crockpot makes this so easy!!! I didn't have all the ingredients so I listed my subs below. First time I have made this and don't know if it will work. I just put on the crock.. and will update to add my comments.
Substitute:
- used Hawaiian Lehua Honey for brown sugar
- did not add water (due to previous comments of the sauce being too thin)
- grey poupon country style for dry mustard
- no hot sauce
- used 6 cloves garlic (because we LOVE Garlic!)
Pretty tasty! The lower-than-perfect rating though, is because these came out very different than I expected. Fall-off-the-bone absolutely! But almost so much so that the dish "ate" more like a pot roast than ribs. The flavor also seemed more pot-roast-like than BBQ-like. The sauce was tasty but just not what I had planned on.
Loved it. Great tangy BBQ sauce. You have to make sure you pour a bunch of the sauce on the meat when you eat it. The sauce is not thick, but I'm guessing this is Carolina style sauce which isn't thick.
