I really liked this recipe.. I only used 4 pork chops and used less ingredients.. my 2 older kids did not like the onion. But that is my fault and should have diced it up small..
Excellent! Very tasty, and I'm keeping that as a regular meal.
All I could taste was the soy sauce. Waited 7 hours for disappointment. :-(
My family absolutely loved these pork chops! I will definitely make these again. I used the full amount of soy sauce, and we didn't find them overly salty what so ever. Not all soy sauces are created equal! My favourite brand is Kikkoman. I can't imagine enjoying this nearly as much had it been made with China Lily.
I have made this several times and each time is better than the last. My very picky boyfriend even loves it! The onions add a great flavor to the pork chops. The flavor of the dish is very unique but overall delicious. I always double the sauce and add some Wondra flour to thicken it so it has the consistency of a gravy. I agree with the other reviews that 7 hours is usually too long-mine take about 5.
Great recipe, easy to make with ingredients that you have in your pantry.
I made this today with only 4 chops as that's what I had. We loved them! I made wild rice along with them. Great flavor. This recipe is a keeper.
Great recipe. I'll be honest, I was really nervous using that much soy sauce. I followed the recipe anyways and didn't add any extra salt or anything. I also didn't have onions so I used my own recipe for onion soup mix...I also left the salt out of that recipe. Everything turned out perfectly and oh so delicious. Paired with rice its very yummy. Thanks for the recipe! Oh...I also cooked on high for 3 1/2 hours...perfect and I used center cut pork chops that were 3/4 to an inch thick. Tender tender meat when it was done.
I cooked it exactly how this sated my man says it's worth the long day at work now come home to that thanks love more good recipes
Quick, easy and flavorful! I was looking for something fast and this was great because I happened to have all the ingredients in my pantry. I threw everything in the crockpot with 4 FROZEN pork chops (about 1/2 inch thick) and cooked on low for 3 hours and it was perfectly cooked. The meat was falling apart it was so tender. I can't imaging cooking it for 7 hours unless you are doing a roast or loin! I normally add my own twist to recipes but this one I followed pretty exact. I did however cut the soy sauce in half (I used low-sodium) only because I ran out of it and the flavor was very good -- it did not overpower the dish. I did not add any salt. I used powdered ginger. I would definitely not omit the crushed red pepper! It adds the right amount of spice to balance the sugars without being too hot. The onions were delish. I only had half an onion. Next time I will use more. You do not have to add any water or stock. The consistency of the sauce is thin but I prefer that. I served it with cous cous. It was a lovely combination. Will definitely make this again.
