  1. Spray crock pot with non-stick spray and cover the bottom with slightly crushed chips.
  2. Combine soups, rotel, chili powder, and onion in a separate bowl and blend well with a whisk.
  3. Brown ground beef in a skillet, drain fat, and add ranch style beans to it and mix together. (Do not drain the beans). Layer half of the beef mixture over the chips, then half of the soup mixture over the beef, ending with half the cheese over the beef. Repeat these layers once more beginning with chips and ending with cheese.
  4. Cook on high in crock pot for three hours.

Here's why you should make something and try it yourself before you invite people over for dinner. Did a triple batch and now im whipping up some spanish rice and im gonna put it on tortilla's. My guiney pig just told me that its better now. I just turned out really soupy and plain. Needs more spice and more meat.

I ran short on time today so I assembled this in a casserole dish and baked in the oven. Doubled the recipe, added the onion to the ground round while browning, and also 3 cloves of garlic. I was a little worried about seasonings but the beans along with the chili powder and rotel make this perfectly seasoned. The soup mixture makes a very creamy sauce and along with the cheese is a bit rich. The chips did get soggy for me but that was ok because it was easier to scoop with extra tortilla chips. Served with a dollop of sour cream and crushed tortilla chips sprinkled on top. A perfect cold weather comfort meal!

This is an okay dish that is quite filling - I topped mine with sour cream. However, the chips on the bottom tend to get mushy - I wonder how it would be if you add the chips at the end when it is all cooked instead of how it is written.
