Sorry, but I did not like this recipe. I was very interested in the use of lemonade, but it provided a taste that was, to me, odd. This dish ended up tasting somewhat like a lemon/orange type of oriental chicken dish...too sweet!
Found this recipe to be toooooo...sweet for our taste. I was amazedhow simple it was to prepare...and when the crazy hour before dinner arrived...I was relaxing..gotta love that! in fact if it wasn't for this recipe I wouldn't have pulled my CrockPot out of storage! I will be looking for many more CrockPot suppers!
Well I just loved this dish. The chicken was infused with a terrific lemon flavour and it could not have been easier to make. The guest I served it to ate the chicken and used up the sauce over their rice. I think this is a great dish. Thanks for posting it Tish.
Been using this recipe for 15 years. Different brands of lemonade can alter the taste from just right, too sweet, too fake lemon, or too bland. As soon as I changed the recipe from plain Lemonade to Raspberry Lemonade, that is all people request now!
Not only do we serve this over plain rice, but we also put it on a hamburger bun for a completely different experience.
I love it!!! I also found that using salsa instead of ketchup helps if you find this recipe a little too sweet. It adds a little more zest to an already great recipe!
We tried this tonight, and interestingly enough, we found the sauce to be bland, and if anything too vinegary. I tasted the sauce before putting it in the pot with the chicken and decided to add a 1/2 t ginger and 1/4 t pepper, and it still wasn't flavorful enough for our taste. I'll use the chicken in some leftovers tomorrow. I'll be sure to check out some of your other recipes which I'm sure are wonderful!
Just awesome. I did not find this recipe too sweet at all. I served it over some egg noodles. The chicken breast fell apart as I was scooping it out. Very tender and delicious. Thanks for sharing.
The instructions fail to mention the vinegar. Believe it should be added at step 2. Sounds delicious, can't wait to try it.
