Super simple to make! First time I've ever used a whole roasting chicken in the slow cooker. I cooked mine overnight for 7 hours and it was just perfect with doneness. I do think a bit of seasoning is needed so I used a garlic pepper seasoning before cooking. I think 8 hours would be too & would suggest an estimate between 6-8 hours would make this perfect depending on your own slow cooker. Great dish for our dinner which reheats wonderfully! Thanks for sharing.
Easy and delicious!
Overcooked. Chicken mushed up in your mouth.
I love cooking a whole chicken in the crock pot. It remains juicy and tender. This is a real keeper. Easy to throw together and the results are FANTASTIC!
Very easy and smelled great while cooking! I made this exactly to the recipe, using fresh squeezed orange juice. Chicken totally fell apart when removing from the crockpot - very moist. Did need some seasoning (salt, etc) for my taste. Used the leftovers in a taco salad with lettuce, black beans, cheese & crushed nacho chips. This was my first time doing a whole chicken in the crockpot - thanks for the easy recipe!
Good chicken. The only change I made was I used all thighs. I let it cook all day while I was at work, then thickened the sauce with a little cornstarch and served it over rice.
Tasty, and made alot of good sauce for adding to the rice I served with it. I used about 1 1/2 pounds of chicken tenders and cooked it for 5-6 hours. Adding a tad of soy sauce to individual servings was helpful.
This was easy and delicious and the chicken was moist and lemony and literally fell off the bone! I only used 1/4 cup of the honey in the sauce and this was ideal for us. I placed a sliced onion, some small carrots, and two crushed garlic cloves under the chicken. This combination was a nice enhancement to the sauce and to the egg noodles that I made to go with the dish. Very yummy.
It's amazingly tasty! I used freshly squeezed orange juice. Used slightly less than 1/2 cup honey 'cos husband and I don't really fancy sweet stuff. Had a sweet, sour, bitter (from the lemon skin) combination. Wonderful, I must say. Especially tasty after being left overnight and the sauce gets absorbed by the meat. Thanks!
