Crock Pot Hot Apple Cider

"I got this recipe from the Sandlake Country Inn on the Oregon coast. They always have a hot pot of it on a table in the entrance hall for their guests. We love it!"

  1. Nearly identical to the recipe I follow which has 1/2 C brown sugar. The orange slices just make it! I use a coffee filter to put the spices in as I never have cheesecloth.

  2. Very warming and comforting on a cold, dreary day. The spices and flavors were perfect. Made for Fall 2011 PAC game.

  3. We really enjoyed this recipe! It was easy to prepare and made good use of the slow cooker/ crock pot on Christmas day when the hob was full already. We don't have orange juice concentrate here so I cut one orange into wedges and threw it in. Next time I think I would use half an orange. Thanks for a lovely treat!

  4. This was a family favorite, everyone enjoyed it, thanks for sharing. I used a gallon jar of apple cider so I adjusted the oj & brown sugar x4, but I only used 4 cinnamon sticks and 1 tea ball of cloves. I didn't have anything to strain it with, so we left the thick stuff that settled on the bottom and poured the rest of it in a jug. We reheat it in our mugs and its just as good as the first day.
