This was terrific. I used 1.5 lb of pork loin. Put it together during my lunch hour and it was done by 5:30. Used 1/2 green pepper. Delicious!people found this review Helpful. This came out beautifully and was neither too sweet nor sour, the ingredients worked really well together. I did manage to slightly burn a few pieces of pork but that was my bad because I've got a large slow cooker and didn't think to do what I normally do for smaller quantities of putting it on an angle to let everything sit up one end. It had a great aroma while cooking and was great served over buttered rice as suggested!people found this review Helpful. You can only vote others' reviews helpful or not helpful... The photo caught my eye and then having an easy crock pot meal sold me. I used country pork ribs and after cooking, the meat just fell of of the bone. I lightly shredded it into chunks. I omitted the water & had more than enough liquid at the end to thicken with cornstarch into a sauce. I was expecting a more distinctive flavor from the sauce. There was nothing objectionable, it was a mild flavor sauce with a sweet note. It just wasn't particularly pineapple-y or sweet & sour in flavor. I will definitely be using the recipe again, but will add to the sauce mix. I served with stir fried rice & Asian slaw. Thank you for sharing your recipe!people found this review Helpful.
