  1. look folks, this is a basic slow cooker recipe. Its hamburger and potatoes,to expect braised lamb chops to come out is being a little unrealistic. With some of the comments that your leaving the Internet over this is crazy. Its basic, just add the stuff you like in your slow cooker recipe. If you want lamb chops search for that.

  2. I made this for our supper last night and we enjoyed it very much. I was a little leary after reading some reviews about not having enough seasoning, but decieded to not add extra seasoning until we have tried it. I made sure I liberally seasoned each layer (I think I had 5 potato layers all together) with salt and pepper. In the end, I'm glad we didn't add anything extra ( and we like well seasoned food), it was perfect. Thank yo for sharing this easy penny pinching meal.

  3. Just a little problem. The picture clearly shows a casserole with carrots and corn, but there's none in this recipe!

  4. I used this recipe for the basis of our dinner tonight. I browned the hamburger, added the onion and garlic, then the soup and milk. I let this simmer down just a bit then added half a bag of hashbrowns and then topped this with montery jack cheese. Seasoned to taste with salt and pepper .... thanks for a meal my 3 yr old called "Delicious"

  5. I so appreciate having my crock pot meal ready to go when I come home in the afternoon. I added garlic, onions, paprika, smoked salt, cayenne, black pepper, cooking sherry and coriander while browning the meat. Then followed the rest of the directions. I added peas and corn toward the end. It was delicious! My teenage children and my husband loved it. Folks: just add whatever spices you enjoy and you’ll love it. Thank-you Genius kitchen for helping me out of my dinner menu rut!

Tweaks

  1. I was looking for something easy for supper tonight that I'd like ok. Turns out I didn't like it ok, I loved it. I made a few changes. I only used 1 lb of hamburger and during the browning of the hamburger I added about 1 tsp of Montreal Steak Seasoning, 1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes, and 1/2 tsp of garlic powder. Then when I was putting everything in the crockpot, I added about 3/4 of a can of milk instead of 1/2 and about 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce. I also sprinkled about 1/2 c. of shredded cheddar cheese total throughout the layering. I used the potatoes, soup, and onion as specified in the recipe. The result was a meal that both my husband and I really enjoyed. The only bad thing is that I foresee a need to sneak into the kitchen for an early lunch tomorrow so my husband doesn't get to the leftovers before me. Thanks for the recipe!

  2. Just made this evening. Did not use milk but water instead. Added lots of garlic and tons of black pepper. Absolutely delicious. I will definitely make this again.

  3. added garlic, onions, paprika, smoked salt, cayenne, black pepper, cooking sherry and coriander while browning the meat. Then followed the rest of the directions. I added peas and corn toward the end of the crock pot cooking time.

  4. added my own spices and corn with other ingredients and cheddar cheese on top for 15 minutes before finish.

  5. added mushrooms, Velveeta cheese and a small bag of frozen mixed vegetables.
