The ham, garlic and onion flavors married well with the fresh green beans. I had not tried to use my crockpot to cook vegies before, and was pleasantly surprised at how this dish turned out. Beans were tender and not mushy.
I have made these for many years and they are fabulous! I love the way they smell while they are cooking. This a great Southern dish! Thanks for sharing.
The flavor was good, but it took more like 7 hours on HIGH for them to thoroughly cook.
This is a wonderful recipe! I had never thought of making green beans in the crockpot, but I will do it this way often from now on. I cut up some canadian bacon instead of the ham hock and the beans were tender and flavorful. Thanks for the great inspiration.
