Very yummy and it makes a good amount of broth! The only thing I did different was to place a chopped onion under the roast in the crock pot because I love the onions in my sandwich. I also used fresh rosemary and thyme from my indoor garden. I served it with French bread and grilled asparagus. I will definitely make this again.
I hate to be the one to give this this a bad rating. It was easy to put together. Even with the extra chopped garlic, onions, and mushrooms I added. It was too salty. Even with lite soy sauce and a cup of water to tone it down. I will be looking for another French dip recipe.
Have made this twice now to rave reviews! My friends think I am a marvelous cook thanks to you. I can not count the amount of compliments this recipe has gotten me. People tell me how it is better than restaurant au jus! Thanks for making me look good! I usually add onions and half a cup of water at the beginning. Thanks Queen
This was fantastic! My house smelled wonderful all day long. When it was time to eat my husband buttered and grilled the hoagie rolls before putting the beef on the rolls and we topped it with mozzerella cheese. Great dinner, thanks so much for posting we will be making this again for sure!
This smelled so good cooking all day that it was hard to wait the full time. I order french dip subs from sandwhich shops and besides the fact that it was a higher quality beef these are exactly the same, but better. I also added some onions under the roast and some onion powder. We used amaroso rolls and put melted mozzarella cheese on the sandwhiches and they were great. Made for Aussie Swap 14
This was a big hit at a recent get-together. Very easy to make! Like another reviewer, i also added sliced onion under the roast. I'd definitely make this again!
