This is an awesome recipe! I followed the recipe exactly and it came out wonderful. I put mine in the crock pot around 11:30 a.m. and had to run to my son's baseball game around 3:30 p.m. I made the sauce and poured it over the chicken. I got back home at about 6 p.m. and we had a great meal waiting for us. The chicken was moist and fork-tender. The sauce was delish! I served this over fettuccine and my family raved over it. I will definitely use this recipe often as I love to have great crock pot recipes. Thanks for sharing.
I always hate to give "just an ok" review, especially when you have so many great ones, but this was way too rich for me and my hubby. It was also very pasty looking, if that makes sense. Maybe browning the chicken prior to putting it in the crock pot would help.
Very Good! I used 1/2 c of liquid Italian dressing and 1c of white wine to cook the chicken in, and then also subbed white wine for the chicken broth in the sauce. Sauce was not to runny at all and had a restaurant quality flavor.
Very tasty.. and rich.. I added mushrooms and tomatoes. I actually didn't use the crock pot.. I made this on the stove. Browned the chicken and then simmered it in the sauce. Thanks!
This was fantastic, and really easy to make. I am definately going to make it again! I used 1.5 pounds of chicken, the full italian seasoning and cooked it on low for 4 hours. I then shredded the chicken. I omitted the onion and garlic, because I don't care for it. I heated the soup and cream cheese like instructed, added it to the chicken and cooked it another hour. I then served it over egg noodles. I have lots of leftovers, and will enjoy it until its gone. Yum!
SOOOOO good! I've made other crock pot creamy chicken dishes from this site before and this one is by far the best! Only downside, is the other ones allow me to go to work for 8 hours a day, where as this one needed a little more love and I don't think I'd be able to make it during the work week. I may just combine a few of the crock pot creamy dishes on this site so I get the right flavor and it can be left alone all day. Thanks for sharing!
My hubby and I didn't care for this. The chicken smelled great cooking with the Italian herbs but once I added the cream cheese part it became really heavy and kind of bland. I follwed the recipe exactly except I added some sliced mushrooms and I served it over noodles with a side of veggies. Won't make this again as i don't know what variations I could make to suit it to our taste.
We loved this recipe! I used a mix of dried herbs instead of italian dressing mix because I dont like the mix. I used 2-8oz. Blocks of cream cheese for more sauce. When it came time to pour on the cream cheese mix, I only put on half. I poured in 2 cans of drained italian diced tomatoes and fresh basil. Then top with rest of cream cheese. It was delicious. The tomatoes and basil made a differance. Served with plain pasta. I also made the cream of chicken soup #277130 from scratch. Thanx for the keeper!!!
I had made this once before but sort of messed it up. I had added a can of cheddar cheese soup, it was still good. This time I'm made it according to recipe. I do suggest you drizzle the butter on the chicken first then the dressing mix. It will make the mix stick beter. I also cook this in my crockpot. Yummy with rice.
This wonderful recipe has so many possibilities. I *will* make it as written soon, however, I was making a Mexican dinner, so made some flavor changes. Added drained Rotel Tomatoes/green chiles---as suggested by Chef 545970 and lightly sprinkle the chicken with 1/8 teas. taco seasoning in place of the Italian dressing before browning. Used all the other ingredients. YUMMMY! Made for the Crock Pot event in Cooking Photos.
