directions

  • Use the size roast and the amount of vegetables you need to feed your family.
  • I usually buy a big roast and add lots of the veggies.
  • Put roast in a crock-pot,sprinkle with onion soup mix.
  • Add coke to almost cover the roast.
  • Add carrots to liquid around roast and all other vegetables to top of meat.
  • Cook all day on low (8-10 hours),or on high 5-6 hours.
  • Liquid makes a great gravy.

Questions & Replies

  1. So I had to put almost two cans of coke to almost cover the meat and I made an executive decision to add another packet of onion soup do you think this will be okay?

  1. This was SO DELICIOUS! I have never been a big roast person, but this was very tender and juicey I put a little tiny bit more coke in there and also rubbed the roast before hand with a little pepper, salt, and garlic powder. I used fresh green beans instead of corn. Over all this was a great meal, and was easy to put together and done in about 8.5 hours!

  2. Threw this into the crockpot yesterday morning so we would have a great meal for my first day back teaching. Wow! The meat was so tender and flavorful. Ended up using 3-4 carrots, 6-7 mushrooms, and 4 potatoes (forgot the corn!). Ended up eating dinner when I got home at 4:20 because it smelled so good! DH ate 3/4 of it by himself! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Lots of positive reviews but what meat die you use, rump, blade, sirloin etc?

  4. This recipe is awesome! I buy the ingredients for the pot roast, and the cashiers always ask if I want to carry my coke. I tell them that they can put it in a bag and it's for the roast. I got a strange look, but then I tell them to try it, and explain how good it is! Most of the time they do!!

  5. Sooooo simple and delicious.

  2. This was nice my partner loved it! I used real chunky thick pieces of beef instead of a roast and it tasted a lot like a beef stew.I also added beans and sweet potato. I also used diet cola which you couldn't taste at all and made a beautiful gravy thanks.
