    I got this recipe from a cooking site called Joyce's Place. This is the first homemade applesauce I ever made. I think this recipe is very easy and yummy.

      Great and easy applesauce. I halved this recipe and used my 3-1/2 quart crockpot, which turned out to be the perfect size. I used large Braeburn apples and substituted the nutmeg with allspice. Cooked for 8 hours on low and was able to mash the apples with a spoon to the consistency I like. Made for Spring 2010 Pick A Chef.

      Thank you for such a yummy recipe! It was my first try at homemade applesauce and I was overly delighted by the results! I used Splenda instead of sugar and then pureed it in the blender. Thanks for posting this recipe!
