Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Pasta (Slow Cooker)

"I saw this recipe on a parenting forum and modified it. You can sub low fat ingredients, but please don't use fat free. Adjust the hot wing sauce to your liking (heat and amount) I actually add more than 1/2 cup. Enjoy!"

 1. Great slow cooker recipe. I used ground chicken breast and browned it part way , just to speed up the cooking time. My family thought it tasted just like hot wings and blue cheese dip. I purchased the blue cheese by the pound off the salad bar at our local grocery store. $4.99 per pound and 4oz of the pre-packaged blue cheese was $3.89. The half cup cost me about 0.75 cents.

 2. LOVE THIS!! I did make some substitutions. I used reduced fat ranch dressing instead of blue cheese. We don't like blue cheese.
I also used reduced fat sour cream, reduced fat cheese and reduced fat/reduced sodium cream of chicken soup. I served the sauce over egg noodles. My family could not get enough. It was like eating dip for dinner. YUM!

 3. This was REALLY good! I just put my chicken breasts in whole and frozen, in about 4 hours the chicken was so tender that it shredded in the crock pot super easy! We ate ours over noodles and I think maybe it would be better as a dip for crackers or maybe even bread chunks. We'll definitely make it again, but maybe next time not as the main dinner dish, as a dip for the next party. YUMMY!

 4. OMG this was so fantastic! I already had leftover cooked chicken from a rotisserie chicken so I instead just made the sauce, heated it through and threw the cooked shredded chicken in the sauce! I made it with pasta but I would use it as a dip too, or maybe for a wrap filler or in a pita! The only changes I made were using more hot sauce "Frank's" and using the leftover taco cheese I had which was about 2-3 oz which is less than the amount of Mozzerella but I liked the flavor better, it gave it a little more zest. Anyway, addicting, simple, thanks for posting! I love it!

 5. We love it both as a dip and over pasta. Either way, delish! Everyone in the family loves it!

Tweaks

 1. LOVE this! I used quite a bit more hot sauce (Frank's) for more spice, and feta instead of blue cheese. So rich even with healthy request chicken soup, and light sour cream. And I only had to cook the chicken on low for about 3 hours and it was perfect. Was even better reheated as leftovers! Yum :)

I live in MI with my family and am always on the lookout for new tasty recipes that even my toddler will like. He loves meat and pasta, most fruit and is getting better about veggies. I cook every meal 7 days a week, with the occasional lunch or dinner out (very occasional!) but I love cooking so it's not a bad thing to me.

I am a big sweets eater and recently got an ice cream maker so I have been whipping up lots of ice cream. My favorite so far has been Ben and Jerry's heath bar crunch, it's so creamy and only lasts 2 days in this house! Other baked goods and homemade bread are favorites too, though not much bread gets baked in the summer.

I hate doing dishes! We are currently house hunting and a dishwasher is a must (we don't have one right now). Luckily my dh is pretty good about helping out with the dishes :)

I know it seems like I give lots of good reviews, but there is a good reason: I know what we like, so I pick dishes I think we will like, and often we do. If i give a review of a recipe with no stars it's because I think I did something wrong usually so that's why it didn't come out right. Or if something has excellent ratings and I don't like it, I don't want to ruin that, because obviously I didn't like something, but that's not a refection of the actual recipe!

I dislike when people don't make the recipe correctly and give it a bad review. Ok, if you change one or two small things, fine, but if you make major changes, not ok. And when people give a bad review because it was good, but not what they are looking for? Sorry, but I don't get that. YOU picked it, if it tastes good but wasn't what you were looking for, not the recipe's fault :)
