Yum yum! Very easy to make and super tasty. My parents live in France and this tastes just as good as a beef bourginon that you would get in a restaurant over there! Thanks a million!

This is another recipe I would love to give more stars. Comfort food at its best. I made some small changes, first I only used 1.5 pounds of beef and keep everything else the same I wanted a little bit more gravy because I was serving this dish with garlic mashed potatoes. Also instead of just slicing the onion I cut them small diced. I used fresh thyme, just a small sprig. Overall the gravy had a ton of flavor and was very good over the mashed potatoes. This is a keeper thanks for posting,

great recipe, a tad time consuming peeling the pearl onions but worth it, doubled the recipe as I was feeding a large crowd, a definite hit for sure, this recipe is now printed and in my cookbook, many thanks

Sorry to say that I was bit disappointed in this one. I followed the recipe exactly, but still found the flavor a bit wanting. Maybe I should have salt and peppered more heavily. I enjoyed all the mushrooms (but kids didn't of course), and the meat was fork-tender. However, I guess I expected more bang for the buck for such a time-consuming crockpot recipe. I expect to be able just to throw everything in and go, so for me to spend as much prep time on this one as I did, I expected something extraordinary. Sorry.
