I am on a mission for all things crock pot! Besides adoring crock pot cooking which I have been doing since age 10, I need to find 'do-able' recipes for my pot for when I return to Morocco to live. If nothing else is shipped ahead, THIS time, my crockpot will be! I need to find recipes with ingredients readily available there as well and this is a keeper! Just wait until my fiance (will be husband when I move back) has his 1st baked apple!! I grew up on them but many of these things will be wonderful new things to him. Thank you for this to put in my Moroccan crockpot file!!
I made these to go with a fresh pork roast, added a kraft caramel to the top of each one. They were great...will definitely make them many times.....
These were so yummy. The longer they cooked the better they tasted, we will defiantly make these again.
These are GREAT!!! I have used many different apples and each time they come out wonderful!! I'm sorry that I forgot to post a review for so long :(((
Very nice....ours took about 3-4 hours. They started to look like they were "splitting" and getting soggy, so I stopped the cooking process. That was all the time required, and they turned out lovely. I added a couple of splashes of rum in the bottom with the water.
YUMMMMMM! Tried these over the weekend. I used Macintosh apples (personal preference). I only deviated from directions a little. I did sprinkle with cinnamon at the end, but we like cinnamon, so I added a dash or two to the raisin mixture, also. One of our guests is diabetic, so I substituted Splenda for the sugar. I thought 7-9 hours seemed excessive, but I let it cook for about 7 hours. It turned out wonderfully. We'll definitely have this one again. Thanks!
