      This recipe has been passed down for generations thru all of Eastern Europe. It truely is a refreshing summer salad and very simple to toss together. It's even better the next day and placed in sandwiches. My mother has been making this all my life. Food really does bring all of us together!

      I make this all the time! This is one of my husband's favorites. (Figures since he is Hungarian and Russian!) If I have some fresh tomatoes to use up I toss them in and just adjust the seasonings a bit.

      I also got this same recipe from my Hungarian MIL! So good!! The only extra thing she adds in is a little bit of sour cream, which kind of gives the sauce a creaminess. I like both ways - very good in the summer!

      How funny! I got this recipe from my Hungarian grandmother ... I always thought it was Hungarian. It is delicious and very refreshing for the summer!

      This cucumber salad is simple, easy and delicious. My son - the cucumber lover - ate most of it by himself. He has asked me to show him how to prepare it. Thanks nitko.
