I only made a half batch because my husband doesn't eat onions. When I was putting together the ingredients my first thought was, "Boy, that's a lot of seasoning!". I thought it would be too strong, but it wasn't. I used a Vidalia onion. Though the flour mixture didn't cover the whole piece of onion, it was enough to make it really good. Next time I will add one egg to the milk to hold together the mixture.I enjoyed this recipe very much.

YUM YUM Outstanding! They really taste like the crispy little rings that you get on top of your steaks at steakhouses. I have tried a couple other recipes for onion strings that the batter was just missing something. This is right on the spot and has the right flavors! I did add more of the seasonings to my flour mixture, about double the amounts. And I double dipped back into the milk and flour again to coat them well. This is a definite keeper, and a must make whenever having steaks, ribs, or burgers!

I did this for the cookathon and am so happy I chose this recipe, these are great. I didn't add anything to hold the coating on as Kitten did but I just lost a little bit and not enough to complain about. These are wonderful and my father even liked them. Hope you are feeling better and thanks for the recipe.
