These were delicious. I didn't have a green pepper, but I am sure that only adds to the flavor. It was a delightful change of pace. Even my children who complain when I spice things up loved it.I added some Frank's Hot Sauce and some Tony Chachere's cajun seasoning. Yum! Also, I just added the beans to the sauce and simmered until they were good and tender.

Great flavor! I like this recipe because it uses ingredients I always have on hand anyway. I used canned beans and added some creole seasoning and it was still fantastic. I made it for my family at Christmas and by the time I made it to the table, there was none left for me! Even my hubby who doesn't care for green beans ate them up and asked for more. Last time I made it, I had no bacon, so sauted in olive oil and it's still good.
