    Bev's Note:

Creme Fraiche is a thick and tangy French cream which is like a smoother and richer sour cream. If using in a recipe, it would be best to prepare the day before as it has to be allowed to sit at room temperature about 8 hours, then chilled before use. I found this very easy recipe in Cuisine at Home.

OUTSTNDING, & sooo easy! Used it, also, on some fresh strawberries that I had, & it tasted great! Would think it would go well, also, over the strawberries in a shortcake instead of whipped cream! Definitely a keeper recipe! Thanks for sharing! I left my bowl on the counter from midnight to about 7:30 the next morning and than refrigerated. A very nice creamy sour cream type flavor without the extra "bite" that sour cream has. This did thicken but I did have more of a pourable consistency. I am very happy with the results and tasted so good with fresh strawberries. I used KC_Cooker's Substitute for Buttermilk for this recipe. Thank you cookiedog!!
