I use this recipe too but I like using graham crackers instead of the lady fingers. and I reduce the amount of sugar so it's not too sweet. Anyway, you can really play with this recipe to suit your taste and it's very easy to make. Looks good, too.

This dessert just doesn't work for me. Beside being extremely sweet, the gelatin layer got absorb into the custard/lady finger layers and caused the whole thing to have weird texture.

This was OK, but I actually prefer trifle. It was nice for a change. Thanks for sharing.

This was so rich and creamy. I like the recipe because of the use of fruit cocktail. Something I eat every week by itself. Now I have a new recipe to use my fruit cocktail with. I made this and shared with my family and everyone just loved it and wanted the recipe for it. Thanks so much for the awesome recipe..

A very nice recipe indeed. A very easy recipe to put together and it looks so fantastic when serving. I wasnt sure what fruit coktail was, so I used a tropical fruit saIad and also made the custard in my microwave and used a stick blender every so often to blend it, and when custard was quite warm I set the microwave to half power to fisnish the custard and blended again and the custard was perfect (and no lumps!) Everyone loved it here and I have some left for tomorrow, but next time I am going serve with a side of whipped cream! sshhhh!! Wonderful recipe Pneuma, will be making again. Thank You.

This was awesome! I had 8 guests, so I ended up making a whole recipe, and half more. We only ate 2/3rds of it, b/c it is very filling. I was confused on the gelatine, b/e one packet was only .25 oz. I must have used a different brand than the author did. I ended up putting 2 oz in. I also couldn't find Fruit Cocktail Syrup. There definitely isn't 1 1/2 cups in a can after you drain it. I ended up buying two cans, just for the juice. It all came out alright, but next time i'll just use tropical flavored Jello mix. It'll save alot of time, and a little money.

More than anything else, what appealed to me about this recipe is the use of fruit cocktail, something I REALLY LIKE TO EAT! This was great putting this dessert together, & it was easy, too! I, too, cut the recipe down (in half) & had 2 great-size servings! Thanks for sharing your GREAT TASTING dessert! [Tagged, made & reviewed in 1-2-3 Hit Wonders cooking game]

This dish is very rich and very, very yummy. It is light, airy, and yet very filling. You don't need a large serving to feel content with this yummy and elegant dessert. It was surprisingly easy to put together too. Thanks for posting this wonderful keeper recipe!

Made & reviewed for my PAC baby! I know this should have been made in a large dish & cut up for serving but it was only DH & I eating so I reduced the recipe & made it in two glasses instead. It was delicious & very simple to make. We found it rich yet still light & I can't wait to make this again in a large dish for guests! Thanks so much Pneuma for another great recipe :)
