Great Soup!!!! I made this on the stove top and it was really tasty!!I did have to add a little more water to the soup as it simmered, and I also added a few splashes of tamari for a little depth of flavor. This will be made often at my house!!Thank You Sharon123!

Excellent! Even my husband who hates soup (calls soup 'too wet' and it 'has too many ingredients mixed together') loved it. If this recipe can make my husband go back for seconds, then it is definitely a winner! Super easy and super cheap to make! We served it in bread bowls with a little bit of provolone cheese melted on top, and it was restaurant quality!

A good winter soup. Make it with #39369 for the cream of mushroom and it is even better. I used the green lentils. Next time I will try the red ones as they break down more. I used the AUTO setting on the crockpot [1 hour high followed by low] which worked well - cooked for about 5 hours.

This soup was fantastic !!! I too did it on the stove top because it was too late for a crock pot. So I simmered it for about an hour and stirring in between. For the veggie bouillon mine was as a paste so I blended it in about 1 1/2 cups of boiled water and added that. Plus I had about 1 cup of leftover seasoned pork so I cut that up into pieces and threw it in and it added a nice flavor from the seasonings that were on the pork. Delicious flavor and great consistency, worked out perfect. We all enjoyed this at lunch. Made it with Recipe #430383 and it was yummy and so filling. Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipe Sharon. Made in honor of your DH.

Very tasty! We didn't add the cream of mushroom soup, but used some extra mushrooms and a little almond milk to make it creamy. We also didn't make this in the crock pot. Instead, we made it on the stove top so we could enjoy it sooner. It was great with some crispy french bread!

Wonderful! I added a red bell pepper, used Shiitake mushrooms, and put extra onions and carrots in. I was hesitant about the condensed soup idea but it worked well. I served it with ciabatta bread. Photo added too.

My DH and I really enjoyed this classic soup that happily simmered in my crockpot for a full 10 hours. Since I don't generally use any canned soups, I tried adding an additional cup of mushrooms, chopped fine, and sauteed them with the other veggies. Then I added vegetable broth instead of water and bouillon granules. A teaspoon of cumin, a pinch of salt and lots of black pepper and voila! Your recipes are always a hit with us Sharon

This was really easy and tastes great! I didn't bother sauteeing anything, just dumped it all in the slowcooker out of laziness. I had 2 cups of lentils, used 6 cups of water (4 tsp bouillon), 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup, doubled the veggies but added a Tbsp of celery flakes because I didn't have celery, and used 1 Tbsp dried parsley instead of fresh. Cooked overnight on low for 8 hours and had a bowl with 1 Tbsp of nonfat plain yogurt for breakfast. I just had 2 cups of it for lunch too, and it's very filling. Thanks so much! I'll be making this again.

Lentil soup is a favorite of mine and this was good. Lovely creamy flavor and texture. It did need a good dose of salt and pepper for my taste. In my slow cooker, 5 hours on low was plenty. The lentils were tender, but still held their shape. Thanks for an enjoyable lunch, served with a big chunk of homemade bread.

Definitely a good lentil soup. I made this in the crock pot and cooked it for about 8 hours on low and it was perfectly done. Don't be turned off by the cream of mushroom soup - it was very good and did not taste "fake" at all.

The soup was very tasty. I forgot to add the sour cream on top at the end. Also did not use mushrooms because my kids do not like them right now. I used the stove top instead of the crock pot. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I feel like it needed a little more depth. Perhaps some butter and additonal cream? I WILL make this again. I love lentils and this hit the spot.

This was dh's and my first experience with lentils, and we loved them! I doubled the recipe and used chicken bouillon cubes instead of vegetable (couldn't find veg in my store). I also had some leftover Boston Butt in the freezer that I warmed up and then shredded and threw in there. YUM-O! I will be making this over and over... :)

This is quite wonderful! I made it on the stovetop becuase I forgot to start it this morning. It was easy and delicious! Even my picky hubby said it was really good. I made it as is except I added a little more garlic and some hot pepper. (I also snuck in some flax seeds). Thanks for the wonderful recipe Sharon!!

This was very tasty. We did some modifications (more garlic! and blended it) . I think some roasted bell pepper would be a lovely addition!

I really needed some good comfort food, but I wanted something different. This worked out perfectly. I made this on the stove. Just simmered it for an hour and I'm very happy with it. I doubled the mushrooms since i had some that needed using up. Served with sour cream and whole wheat toast. Very satisfying. Thanks Sharon123!

Delicious. I followed the recipe exactly and got a perfect, thick tasty soup. Next time I am going to double the mushrooms and maybe add a bit of smoked turkey sausage. Thanks for posting!

I made this for a potluck lunch today. Everyone LOVED it! I made a double recipe hoping I could bring some home, but I was all gone. I will definitely make it again. Fast, easy and so yummy. I used red lentils, but you couldn't really tell that there were lentils in there at all b/c they were all mushy. I didn't mind that at all though. It acted as a thickener.
