We absolutely loved this. The only changes I made were to sub low-fat evaporated milk for the cream (otherwise my son would not have eaten it) and I used fresh field mushrooms. The sauce was indescribably delicious, the apple, mustard and sage melding together perfectly. I served this dish with Welsh Vegetable Pie #107846 and it was a match made in heaven. Thank you MarieAlice for another great recipe. I will surely make this again.
I just made this tonight and my fiance and I really enjoyed it! I didn't have any apples, so i left those out, but it still came out great! I'm always looking for different ways to make sausages (farm country here) and this was fantastic!
This is a delicious meal with wonderful flavor! I used 2 cups of skim milk instead of the cream and let it boil down to a thick consistency. Also, I used 2 tsp of yellow mustard since I didn't have the whole grain or English mustards on hand. This is a good meal for low-carbers too:)
